The women's soccer team traveled to Mohawk Valley CC on Wednesday night and dropped a 7-0 decision.

With the loss to the #3 nationally ranked Hawks, Broome moves to 0-2 on the young season.

The challenging Region III matchup in Utica, NY saw Mohawk Valley strike first in the 11th minute after a free kick was played into the box and touched in. The Hawks then scored three more goals before the end of the half at the 25th, 28th, and 37th minute marks.

Coming into the second half with a 4-0 deficit, the Hornet defense conceded three additional Hawks goals in the 52nd, 54th, and 62nd minute of the match.

Broome goalkeeper Madeline Hyzer was heavily challenged in the matchup and reached double digits in saves, while Mikayla Smith and Zephora Brouillette led the team in shots.

The Hornets will aim to log their first win of the season on Saturday at 1:00 PM, when they return home to Alumni Field to host the #5 nationally ranked Onondaga Lazers.
