Sophomores Jessica Wells, Briana McQuade, Carly Hein, Lilly Wlostowski, and Haley Beckwith were recognized for their dedication to and participation on the team before the start of the home contest.
The results of the game, however, heavily favored the visiting Saints from North Country CC. The Saints scored three goals in the first half and exploded for five more in the second half en route to an 8-0 win.
Broome registered shots on goal from Mikayla Smith and Zephora Brouillette, but neither were successful. The Hornets' offensive attack received contributions from those two and Amber Perry, but the home team could not convert their few opportunities into a goal.
Hein received the start in the net for Broome, tallying seven saves, several of which were very impressive against a strong offense from the Saints. Madeline Hyzer entered the goal in relief later in the second half of the contest, and she collected five saves of her own.
The Hornets pivot to their next contest which is Wednesday at Jamestown CC at 2:00 PM. This match marks the start of a stretch of three road contests in five days.
