The baseball team traveled to Watertown on Thursday for a doubleheader against Jefferson CC and lost game one in seven innings 4-1, and lost game two 23-1 in five innings.

It was a tale of two teams in Watertown. Game one saw Ethan Pastrick have a good showing on the mound and solid defense but for one rough inning that would decide the game. The bats struggled again, putting up two just hits in the game, one by Anthony Benson and one by Trevor Dennison. The Hornets had eleven strikeouts at the plate.  Dennison drove in the lone run in the first with an RBI sacrifice fly scoring Torin Lawrence, before crushing a double to to the wall in left. Benson hit came by way of a bunt and also added a stolen base to his stats.

Game two started off just as the first game did when Dennison drove in Lawrence on a hard hit single to left. In the bottom of the inning the Cannoneers scored four runs on four hits off starter Matthew Meleski and everything went down hill from there for the Hornets. Six errors and thirteen hits later, Jefferson held an insurmountable lead. The offensive struggles continued with eleven more strikeouts and only one hit by Dennison.

The Hornets look to turn things around against Cayuga CC this Saturday at home with the twin bill beginning at noon..
