Broome battled Mohawk Valley CC in Utica on Saturday and came up on the short end, falling 7-6 in nine innings in game one and 5-4 in game two.

The Hornets lost game one when the Hawks plated the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to win the hard fought game. Broome held the lead late in the game in part to three very good pitching performances by Ethan Pastrick, Evan Bryla and Joseph Miller. Miller also had a three run double. Cameron Tom posted two hits in the contest to pace Broome including a double. In the end errors decided the game as the Hornets committed seven in all.

Matthew Meleski and Kacper Bielecki turned in solid performances on the mound and some solid defense kept the contest close but in the end Broome fell short. The Hornets had a chance in the top of the seventh to tie or take the lead with runners on first and third but a deep fly out to left field by Trevor Dennison ended the game. Broome fell to 1-21 with the loss and Mohawk Valley improved to 15-10.
