Broome took both games of their twin bill from Columbia-Greene CC on Tuesday, taking the opener in eleven innings 9-8 before completing the sweep in the nightcap 11-7.

Offense stole the day for the most part in game one. Broome took the early lead, scoring in the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead, but the Twins would not go away easily. In top of the third, walks and timely hitting helped the visitors plate five runs for a 5-2 lead. The Hornets bounced back in the bottom of the inning with a three run blast to left field by Thomas Contrata to tie the game at 5-5. Broome took an 8-7 lead after six only to see Columbia-Greene send the game into extra innings after plating a run to tie it up at eight all. In the bottom of the eleventh, Dante Burns led off the inning with a double and Cameron Tom moved Burns into scoring position with a bunt single. Thomas Ricci ended the game with a sacrifice fly to right center that scored Burns for the win.

The Hornets came out the gate fast and took a 9-0 at the end of the fourth in gane two, including a rare in the park home run by Etan Pastrick. Again, the Twins would not go away easily plating seven unanswered runs to make the game interesting going into the bottom of sixth. Broome was able to add some insurance runs scoring two more runs in the bottom of the inning, giving Pastrick the cushion needed to close out the game. Ricci received his first collegiate victory as the starting pitcher throwing five scoreless innings. Broome improved to 3-21 on the season while Columbia-Greene fell to 4-19.

The Hornets look to continue their winning feeling into Thursday's rematch with the Twins in Hudson, first pitch scheduled for 2:00 P.M.
