Volleyball defeated Tompkins-Cortland CC in straight sets (25-2, 25-19, 25-12) Wednesday evening in Dryden, NY. Alyssa Beck (Vestal/Vestal, NY) started the game off strong for the Hornets with 13 consecutive serves, 4 of them aces. Beck's serving contributed to the 25:2 score at the end of game one, along with Ashleen Speen (Vestal/Vestal, NY) and Danielle Gorman (Windsor/Windsor, NY) with 6 kills each. Amanda Buchta (Vestal/Vestal, NY) was the leader for aces with 2 out of her total of 7 serves in the second match, followed by Beck and Morgan Rezmerski (Owego Free Academy/Owego, NY) with 6 serves. Speen had 5 kills in match two and next was Gorman with 4. In the third and final match Gorman was the leader in aces with 2 and Speen had another 5 kills. Buchta chipped in with a total of 25 assists.
