Women's Volleyball Goes 2-1 At Home POD

The women's volleyball team went 2-1 at their home tournament on Saturday. The Hornets got off to a quick and impressive start to the day sweeping Columbia Greene 25-5, 25-3 and 25-2. Danielle Gorman led that game with 15 aces. The Hornets went on to play Adirondack and lost in a hard fought game in five sets 19-25, 27-25, 28-26, 22-25, 11-15. After a tough loss the SUNY Broome came back strong in their third match and swept Hudson Valley 25-10, 25-6 and 25-9. Amanda Buchta had three strong games leading the team in assists with 88 and chipping in with 13 digs. Ashleen Speen had another big day leading the team with 43 kills, 11 digs and 4 blocks. Alyssa Beck led the team with 30 digs and chipped in with 22 kills. 

The Dig Pink effort raised over $500 for Breast Cancer Awareness! The women's volleyball team would like to thank everyone for their help and support.

The Hornets host Lackawanna CC on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. In the West Gym.
