The volleyball team went 2-1 this weekend in Johnstown, NY at Fulton-Montgomery CC Sunday. SUNY Broome opened up with a 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 16-15, 15-8 win over host Fulton-Montgomery CC, then swept Mohawk Valley CC 25-20, 25-20, 25-16 before losing to Herkimer County CC 30-28, 23-25, 20-25, 23-25.
Ashleen Speen (Vestal/Vestal, NY) led the Hornets in four categories. After three matches Speen had 58 kills, 9 aces, 13 blocks and 41 digs. Amanda Buchta (Vestal/Vestal, NY) contributed with 101 assists and 24 digs. Alyssa Beck (Vestal/Vestal, NY) had 34 digs, Morgan Rezmerski (Owego Free Academy/Owego, NY) chipped in with 36 and Nicole Weeks (Newark Valley/Newark Valley, NY) had 29 digs.
The Hornets will host Jefferson CC in the West Gym this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
