The women's volleyball team competed at the Tompkins-Cortland CC POD Saturday afternoon. The Hornets went 1-2 for the day. SUNY Broome lost their first match to Niagara in four games 20-25, 23-25, 25-20 and 20-25. They then swept Erie CC in three 25-14, 25-16, 25-22 before losing the final match of the day against Jamestown in three 22-25, 14-25 and 22-25.
Ashleen Speen (Vestal/Vestal, NY)led the team with 40 kills and 5 aces. Amanda Buchta (Vestal/Vestal, NY) dished out 75 assists. Morgan Rezmerski (Owego Free Academy/ Owego, NY) had an awesome defensive day with 31 digs. Alyssa Beck (Vestal/Vestal, NY) also had a solid performance in all three games tallying up 17 kills and 27 digs.
Their next contest is on Wednesday at Davis college at 6:00 p.m.
