A sluggish start proved costly for the Hornets, allowing Corning to jump out to a large first half lead and a 93-51 win for the host team. The Hornets played with more heart in the second half, only losing that second 20 minutes by three points. However the first half lead, 57-18 in favor of the Red Barons, was just too much for the Hornets to overcome.
Quartus Steika was the lone double figure Hornets' scorer with 14 points, including a 6-6 showing from the free throw line, and grabbing 6 rebounds in the contest. Reginald Vaughan scored 8 points and dished 2 assists, Malik Smith added another 8 points, and led the team in the rebounding effort with 10 boards. Patrick Buchinsky added 8 points and 6 rebounds of his own.
