Slow Start Costly For Hornets

Broome player in triple threat position
vs Fulton-Montgomery

A turnover plagued first half proved to be costly for Broome in a Region III road loss to Fulton-Montgomery on Monday night, falling to the Raiders 70-53.  What appeared to be a route by Fulton after three quarters of play saw Broome come back in the fourth frame to challenge the host team.  Trailing the Raiders by a score of 59-31 after the third, the Hornets came knocking on the doorstep to cut the lead to 7 points in the last quarter before DiAsia DeBoue and Niaimani Marshall combined for 9 points down the stretch ending any comeback bid by the visitors.  Anna Hotalen scored all 9 of her points in the fourth to lead the charge and Isabella LoVuolo hit two 3-pointers to account for 15 of the Hornets' 22 points.

LoVuolo led Broome in the scoring column with 16 points and added 10 rebounds for another double-double, and Hotalen led on the boards with 15.  Miya Ritchie and Glory Thomas came off the bench to contribute in a big way, Ritchie with 11 points and Thomas with 10 boards and 3 points.  Kasey Krewson chipped in with 8 points and Brenna Gioffe with 6 points and 6 rebounds.
