Broome held off a scrappy Finger Lakes CC team on Wednesday night for a 66-52 MSAC win in the Baldwin Gymnasium. The Hornets jumped out to a 20-10 lead at the end of the first quarter only to have the Lakers chip away in the second, sending the host team into the locker room up by four, 35-31. Broome was able to take control in the second half, outscoring Finger Lakes 31-21, sparked by several timely steals by freshman Keyairra Woolfolk.
Isabella LoVuolo led all scorers with 19 points, she also added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks to her totals. Anna Hotalen had 18 points and continued her dominance on the boards with a season high 26 rebounds. Kasey Krewson also reached double digits with 11 points to go along with her 7 boards, 3 assists and 3 blocks while teammate Julianna Mushalla chipped in with 6 points, 10 boards, and a game high 4 assists. Woolfolk had collegiate highs with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals. Becca Reeves led the Lakers with 17 points.
Broome (3-3 MSAC) will host Tompkins Cortland (4-3 MSAC) this Friday in the Baldwin Gymnasium, tip-off scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
