The women's cross country team opened up in Marcy, NY on Saturday at the SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational hosted by the SUNY Poly Wildcats. Aja Jackson picked up right where she left off last year, finishing in or near the top. The sophomore from Endwell, NY posted a time of 17:59.7 in the field of 58 runners, good enough for a 2nd place finish behind SUNY Oneonta's Megan Francoeur. The Oneonta runner broke the course record with a time of 16:38.6

The Hornets finished in fifth place out of seven teams.
