The women's cross country team won a third straight MSAC XC Title on Saturday while Broome also collected numerous individual accolades on the day.

After losing two key runners from their team right before the MSAC XC Championship, the Hornets pulled off an incredible win en route to their third MSAC XC Title in a row. The Mid-State Athletic Conference cross country committee decided to score three runners per team for this meet, rather than the usual five. This allowed for Broome to receive a score at the meet, thus becoming eligible to win, and they did win, earning a thrilling 2 point victory over the runner-up, Onondaga CC. Broome's runners finished with a score of 12, and Onondaga's runners scored at a total of 14. Broome placed all three of its runners in the top six of the race. The Hornets were paced by Aja Jackson, who finished 1st place in the race with a time of 22:34.9. Victoria Slack and Amber Neumuth finished back-to-back at 5th and 6th place in the race and 2nd and 3rd on the Hornets, logging times of 33:16.3 and 33:16.4, respectively.

In addition to repeating as the overall champion in the MSAC XC Championship race, Jackson was also named the MSAC Women's XC Runnner of the Year for a second consecutive time. Jackson was also named to the All-MSAC Women's XC Team. Teammates Slack and Neumuth joined Jackson on the all-conference team. Recognized for a great coaching effort in leading the women to a third consecutive conference championship was coach Tom Carter, who was named MSAC Women's XC Coach of the Year.

The women's team will take with them a phenomenal effort and another MSAC XC Title to Canandaigua, NY on Saturday the 28th for the Region III Cross Country Championships hosted by Finger Lakes CC. The women will run at 10:30 a.m. with the men to follow at 11:15 a.m.
