Aja Jackson

Women's XC runner Aja Jackson will represent Broome in the NJCAA XC National Championships this Saturday in Huntsville, Alabama.

Jackson is coming off two very strong postseason performances in a row, where she placed 1st overall at the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship meet, and 2nd overall at the NJCAA Region III Championship meet. Jackson delivered a swift time of 22:34.9 at the MSAC meet, and followed up her 1st place effort with an even faster time for Regionals, logging a 22:04.8.

After battling some illnesses throughout the season, Jackson seems to be back on track and in great position to bring a great end to her season with the Hornets. Jackson pointed out her persistence and confidence in saying the obstacles were nothing to stop her from running, and now she hopes to run to a top-15 finish at the National meet this year. Jackson thanks the members of the Athletic Department, her family and her coach, Tom Carter, for the support throughout the year. She recognizes the great improvement she's made since she first arrived at Broome, and is hoping to add another achievement to her long list of accomplishments she's garnered over the past two years.

Jackson will run at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday in Huntsville, Alabama. Good luck Aja!
