The men's soccer team dropped their home opener in a MSAC matchup against Cayuga CC on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field by a score of 6-1.
The Hornets came out of the gate with enthusiasm, ready to take on the Spartans and the enthusiasm showed in the first half. Going into the intermission the Hornets trailed 2-1 in the back and forth half contest. Enoch Stephenson kept Broome in the match with some nifty saves in goal and Nathaniel Wojcik kept it close with a goal in the 29th minute after Yuri Brich drew the Penalty Kick. Much like last Sunday's match against Jefferson, the Hornets had no answer and were outscored 4-0 in the second half.
Broome returns to Alumni Field to take on the NJCAA's #2 ranked Genesee Cougars this Saturday at 3:00 P.M. for another MSAC match.
