The men's soccer team dropped a MSAC match to Finger Lakes CC on Sunday afternoon with a final score of 5-3. The Hornets wore navy blue in warm ups to show their support for Genesee CC men's soccer player Ethan Walker, here from Scotland. Navy blue represents his Scottish heritage. Walker was seriously injured in a tragic accident last Tuesday and we all wish him a speedy recovery. #EW29.

The Lakers got on the board in the 7th minute and 31st minute, both off the foot of Andre Budrich. The Hornets responded with a goal of their own in the 34th minute when Jasik Dhillon connected on a play out of the backfield that started as a give and go between Aaron Salisbury and Dhillon. Salisbury played the ball to Nathaniel Wojcik down the line who then beat his mark and found Dhillon running into the box from 12 yards out for the score. With 2 seconds left in the half, Broome had an opportunity to tie the game at two all when Wojcik struck a ball from 25 yards out and drilled the inside of the post, kicking the ball back across the goal as time expired for the half.

The Lakers again scored in the 50th minute to make it 3-1 in favor of the host team but the Hornets answered in the 52nd minute when Wojcik played a long ball from Salisbury into the box and placed it over the head of the Lakers' keeper to make it a one goal match. A defensive letdown between the 81st and 84th minute was all Finger Lakes needed to secure the 5-3 win. The Hornets added one more goal in the 87th minute off an unassisted head ball from John Simmons who  flicked it over the head of the Finger Lakes' keeper. Broome falls to 3-7 with the loss and Finger Lakes improved to 2-6 with the win.

Broome will host Fulton Montgomery CC this Wednesday, scheduled for 4:00 P.M. start at Alumni Field.
