The softball team traveled to Hudson on Tuesday and picked up a pair of wins against Region III opponent Columbia-Greene CC. Game one was a 10-3 affair and game two ended in the top of the third with Broome up 6-2.

In the opener Broome started out slow, scoring two runs until exploding in the fifth for seven. The Twins battled back with three in the bottom of the inning but that would be all they could come up with in the contest giving the Hornets the win. The game saw eight players get in the hit column with the biggest one being an inside the park home run by Brianna Ramstine. Alana Espinoza, Leah Carlini and McKenna Beers all hit for doubles while Keira Warwick, Lauren Simmons, Logan Ives and Carly Kirtland all chipped in with a single each. Espinoza went the distance in the circle for the win, giving up four hits, walking one and striking out nine.

Broome will host perennial power Corning CC in a doubleheader this Thursday at the Bearcat Softball Complex  with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00 P.M.
