Softball Falls To NJCAA's 4th Ranked

The softball team fell to Corning CC on Thursday afternoon at the Bearcat Softball Complex by scores of 13-1 in the opener and 20-2 in the final game. 

In game one the Red Barons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first and scored in each of the next four innings while the Hornets could only come up with one run in the bottom of the first. Brianna Ramstine came up with two of Broome's hits in the contest and Leah Carlini had the other.

Game two was more of the same with Corning exploding for eleven runs in the bottom of the second and eight runs in the bottom of the fourth while Broome put up two runs in the top of the third. Broome again could only muster three hits, 0ne each by Carlini, Alana Espinoza and Keira Warwick.

Broome will travel to SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury on Sunday for a doubleheader against the Timberwolves beginning at noon.
