SUNY Broome was swept by Finger Lakes Community College in a double header Saturday at Hornet Field. The Hornets (8-10, 6-4) dropped the first game 6-4 and the second 8-7. 

The Hornets struck first in game one, scoring twice in the second inning. Terrence Garcia (Willemstad, Curacao/Marnix Cas Cora) and Joe Klenchik (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) earned back to back walks to lead off the inning. Troy Scales(Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) drove Garcia home with a single. Jaidorick Woods (Willemstad, Curacao/Regina Paces) followed with another single to score Klenchik to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead. 

The Lakers tied the game in the top of the third scoring two runs on three hits and were aided by an error.

 FLCC took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fourth, scoring twice on one hit and two errors. 

The Lakers pushed the lead to 6-2 in the top of the seventh, plating two runs on two hits. 

The Hornets would rally in the seventh when Jowendrick Sillie (Willemstad, Curacao/SGO Jacques Ferrandi) earned a one-out walk. Sillie would advance to third on an error and Jack Burns (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) walked to put runners on the corners for the Hornets. SUNY Broome would pull within 6-4 when Henry Pellicciotti (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) doubled to score both Sillie and Burns, but he was thrown out when caught up between second and third. 

SUNY Broome took a 1-0 lead in game two in the bottom of the third inning when Burns hit a two-out double. Klenchik singled to move Burns to third and Burns would score later on a passed ball. 

The Lakers would tie it in the top of the fourth, scoring one run on two hits. 

The Hornets answered in the bottom of the fourth when Cody Burnett (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) led off with a single. Two batters later Forrest Gilbert (Syracuse, NY/Solvay) walked to give the Hornets runners at first and second with one out.Trey Alvarado (Port Lavaca, TX/Calhoun) walked to load the bases and Rachid Martie (Willemstad, Curacao/VSBO St. Jozef) followed with a single to score Burnett and Gilbert and give the Hornets a 3-1 lead. 

FLCC took a 5-3 lead in the top of the fifth on one hit, two walks, a hit by pitch and were aided by two errors. 

SUNY Broome took the lead back in the bottom of the fifth when Klenchik led off with a double and promptly stole third. Scales walked and then stole second putting runners on second and third. Burnett followed with a walk to load the bases. Klenchik scored on a passed ball, and Todd Cutting (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) singled to score Scales and Burnett. Gilbert singled, and Alvarado followed with a walk to reload the bases. Woods hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Cutting, giving the Hornets a 7-5 lead. 

The Lakers took an 8-7 lead in the top of the sixth, scoring four runs on one hit, a walk and three errors. 

The Hornets host Erie Community College Tuesday in a double header starting at 2 p.m.
