Baseball Team Drops Home Opener
The baseball team lost their home opener to Tompkins Cortland CC 15-5 in game one and 10-5 in game two Tuesday afternoon at Hornet Field. 
In the first game, the Hornets scored four runs in the 3rd inning. Henry Pellicciotti (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) drove in 2 runs with a double and Troy Scales (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) singled in another run. Pellicciotti and Colin Arvanitakis (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) both had two hits each for the Hornets.
Game two brought much of the same for the Hornets who struggled in the field on the day. The Hornets had a big fifth inning when they batted around the order and scored all five of their runs. Syanden Wasker (Willemstad, Curacao/St Jozef VSBO), Zackary Decker (Deposit, NY/Deposit), Matt DePalmo (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) and Pellicciotti all had RBI's in the inning. Scales went 2 for 3 in game 2 for the Hornets. The game was called after six innings due to darkness.
Broome is now 0-6 overall and 0-6 in Region III. The Hornets next game is Thursday  April 16th at 2:00 p.m. against Tompkins Cortland CC in Dryden, NY.
