Baseball On Losing Side Of  Doubleheader

The SUNY Broome Hornets were on the losing side of  a doubleheader with Western Conference co-leader Niagara Community College at Hornet Field today. The Hornets lost the first game 8 to 5 and the second game 11 to 0 in 6 innings.

Game one saw the Hornets challenge the first place Thunderwolves, rallying in the fourth inning for three runs to cut the game to 4-3. Henry Pellicciotti had a 2 RBI double in the inning while Adam Kettle added an RBI double as well. Kettle added another RBI in the sixth inning for the Hornets. Pellicciotti went 3-4 with two RBI in the game while Kettle also added two RBI. 

Game two found the Hornets struggling both in the field and at the plate. The Hornets committed five errors to just three hits. Pellicciotti went 2-3 for the Hornets while Kettle added the only other hit on the game for Broome. 

In other news, Pellicciotti was named an NJCAA Region III Athlete of the Week for the week of May 5th. See the following link:

Broome's record is now 5-21 overall and 5-21 in Region III. The Hornets close out their season against the Western Conference co-leader Erie Community College on Thursday, May 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Hornet Field.
