Softball Splits Long Awaited Home Opener
In game one Justina Ellis faced 28 batters in the loss giving up 4 runs, striking out 3 and issuing 1 walk. Broome scored a run in the first inning when Jenna Flannery lead off with a double and scored when Meagan Malarkey laid down a bunt that was overthrown at first leaving her at third base scoring Flannery.  Broome's other run came in the fifth inning when Jenna Flannery singled and Briana Stinson followed up with a double to score her.

In game two Jenna Flannery took the mound and held Genesee to only 2 runs, pitching 6 innings for the mercy-rule win. Flannery struck out 3 and walked one.  The Hornet's bats came alive with contributions from Delaney Zizak who hit two doubles and had 2 RBI's, Meg Malarkey who scored 2 runs, Jenna Flannery who was 3 for 4 at the plate with a double, a run, and an RBI.  McKenzie Martin was 2 for 4 with a single and a triple, scoring 2 runs and Bree Stinson was 3 for 4 scoring 2 runs and 2 RBI.  Karisa Sheriff had 3 RBI's in the game. The walk off game winning hit occurred in the 6th inning with Bree Stinson on third base. Needing only one run to end the game, Delaney Zizak hit a double to the left field fence scoring Stinson.
