Softball Picks Up A Win At Home

The SUNY Broome softball team played a double header Thursday against visiting Columbia Greene CC winning game one 4-2 and ending game two in a 2-2 tie due to rains.  In the first game Broome jumped out to a 1-0 lead and held onto it until the top of the fourth inning when Columbia Greene tied the score. The Hornets answered in the bottom of the fourth with a Brianna Stinson home run and added two more scores in the bottom of the 6th when Meagan Malarkey and McKenzie Martin scored. Final score was Broome 4, Columbia Greene 2.

In the second game Columbia Greene opened up with 2 runs in the first four innings but with Martin on first after a single up the middle, Stinson once again hit the long ball over the center field fence to tie the score at 2 all.  In the top of the fifth inning, the rains came and ended the game in a 2-2 tie.
