Softball Sweeps Jamestown CC

The softball team swept Jamestown CC at BAGSAI Sunday afternoon winning game one 10-8 and followed up with a 5-1 win in the second game. Mckenzie Martin and Brianna Stinson scored one run with back to back doubles. Justina Ellis followed that with her first collegiate home run scoring Stinson for a 3-0 lead. Jamestown came back in the third inning scoring 6 runs on five consecutive hits and a double.  At the end of five innings it was Jamestown 8 and Broome 5.  Meagan Malarkey started the inning off with a single and three batters later Justina Ellis hit her second home run of the game scoring Martin and Stinson to give the Hornets the 10-8 victory.

The second game started off with both defenses holding the score to zero after two complete innings.  At the top of the third Jamestown was able to score a run as the result of a lead off double followed by a hit up the middle.  SUNY Broome answered with three runs in the bottom of the third with Martin, Stinson, and Ellis all scoring runs.  Broome added a couple of insurance runs in the last two innings for a final score of 5-1.  The sweep gives Broome a 6-10 record.
