Softball Splits In Last Regular Season Game

SUNY Broome softball played their last regular season game today at Niagara County Community College. Broome scored in the first inning and the accumulated 15 hits on their way to a 11 to 5 victory. Brianna Stinson hit a single and a triple, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI's in the game.  McKenzie Martin hit her first college out of the park home run, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI's in the win.

In the second game Niagara jumped out to an early lead in the first inning with 7 runs on the board. Broome slowly started playing catch-up ball and by the top of the 7th inning the score was Niagara 9 Broome 6.  Martin doubled to start the inning and Stinson hit a home run over the left field fence to bring Broome within 1 run of tying. Delaney Zizak just missed a home run as it bounced off the top of the fence back into play.  With Zizak on second, Karisa Sheriff doubled and Zizak rounded third, heading for the tying run. The throw to the plate was right on target picking her off and stopping Broome's last scoring attempt.  Final score was Niagara 9, Broome 8.
