Softball Splits Up North

The SUNY Broome softball team traveled to Queensbury, NY on Tuesday for a doubleheader with SUNY Adirondack and split dropping game one 8-0 and winning game two 8-1. The rain held off long enough for both games of the doubleheader.  In the first game Broome was unable to score although several times they had runners in scoring position. It was the Timberwolves all the way with a final score of 8 to 0.

The Hornets came out ready for a action in the second game.  With timely hits through the first three innings Broome was able to grab a 3 to 1 lead and hang on defensively with a decent outing from pitcher Jenna Flannery. In the fifth inning, once again McKenzie Martin and Brianna Stinson were able to add a couple more runs when Martin singled then stole second base. Stinson followed up with a home run over the left field fence. The next batter, Justina Ellis, hit her third home run of the season over the center field fence. Final score of game two was Broome over Adirondack 8 to1.

The Hornets will host Cayuga CC Wednesday afternoon at BAGSAI with game one scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
