Volleyball Earns 6th Straight Sweep

The volleyball team swept both of their opponents on Saturday in the Corning POD, defeating both Jamestown CC and Genesee CC. After starting the season 0-2 the Hornets have not relinquished a set, outscoring their opponents 12-0. In the first match of the day Broome swept Jamestown CC by set scores of 25-18, 25-8 and 25-13 and followed that up with a sweep of Genesee 25-18, 25-21 and 25-17.

 
Against Jayhawks Jaylen Bennett ran a balanced offense distributing 29 assists and Katarina Frommert led the team with 8 kills and 9 digs. Gabriella Bishop, Casie Kephart and Jenna Secoolish chipped in with 7 kills apiece. Bishop was dominant from the service line, amassing a season-high 7 aces in the match. Bishop and Bennett added 7 digs apiece to their lines and Kate Spencer tallied 6 digs.
 
In the second match against the Cougars Anna Tiberia and Frommert led the offense with 7 kills apiece. Bennett led the Hornets in both assists and digs in the contest posting 23 and 16 respectively. Bishop once again led the team in aces with 3 while Spencer and Bennett added 2 aces apiece.
 
Broome travels to Watertown on Tuesday for a MSAC matchup against Jefferson CC, scheduled for a 6:00 P.M. start.
