The volleyball team beat Niagara County Community College and Erie Community College at home on Saturday, and then earned a win on the road against Genesee Community College on Sunday.

This past Saturday was a very successful day for the Hornets, in which they hosted a POD and swept Niagara Community College 3-0, and beat Erie Community College 3-2. Broome followed this up on Sunday by taking down Genesee Community College on the road, 3-1.

The first match of the weekend for Broome resulted in a convincing win, as the Hornets swept three straight sets vs the Thunderwolves, 25-15, 25-18, and 25-10, respectively. The first set was once tied at 14-14, before the Hornets surged to a 22-14 lead as part of a dominant closing stretch to win the set. The Hornets would score the first 8 points of the second set en route to another win. Broome wrapped up the sweep with a strong defensive effort in the third set, holding Niagara to just 10 points. Jaylen Bennett led the team with 8 kills, and Ayshah Almashni led the team with 8 digs while Anna Tiberia tallied an impressive 18 assists.

The second match of the weekend was a nail-biter where a back-and-forth contest saw the Hornets score a big win against the Erie Community College Kats, by a score of 3-2. The Kats are currently third overall in the Region III standings and came into the match as the #3 team in the Region III Coaches Poll, with only three losses on the season. Broome used a valiant comeback effort in the first set to secure a narrow victory of 25-23 after once being down 19-13. A strong effort from the start in the second set led to a 25-16 victory for the Hornets. While it looked like Broome could be on its way to another sweep, the Kats answered with a victory in two straight sets, each by a score of 25-22. The fourth set featured a variety of lead changes, with Erie breaking a 22-22 tie and scoring the final three points of the set. A decisive fifth set saw the Hornets close out their upset victory by winning the set 15-10. Bennett led the Hornets with 17 kills and 21 digs. Gabriella Bishop pitched in with 10 kills and 11 digs, while Tiberia notched a team-high 34 assists.

Coming off of two strong performances on Saturday, Broome traveled to Genesee Community College on Sunday, where they defeated the Cougars by set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 26-24, and 25-20. After dropping the first set, the Hornets would win three in a row to close out the match. Bishop led the Hornets with 9 kills and 17 digs, while Casie Kephart contributed 8 kills, 6 digs, and an assist. Bennett totaled 7 kills, 13 digs, and an assist. Tiberia was again the team leader in assists with 31.
