A successful MSAC season for the Hornets was capped off by a 2nd place finish at the Conference Championships on Saturday in Canandaigua, hosted by Finger Lakes CC.

This was the third meeting between the two teams this season, with the series tied 1-1 after Jefferson won 3-1 at home and Broome won 3-2 at the Fulton-Montgomery POD. The Hornets only needed three sets to decide this contest as they won 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-23).

After beating Jefferson, Broome faced the #1 seed and host, Finger Lakes CC, in the finals. The Lakers won their semifinal match against Genesee CC 3-0. This was also the third meeting between Broome and Finger Lakes, with the Lakers holding a 2-0 edge thus far. The Hornets fought hard in an entertaining match but Finger Lakes proved too strong and won the match 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-15). Bennett led the Hornet offense with eight kills, while Pierce had five, Frommert had four, and Spencer tallied three.
