The team is still in search of its first victory, owning a record of 0-2.
After making the NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer National Championship game last season, the Hawks showed that they are again one of the best teams in the NJCAA this season by tallying nine goals in the first half. The home team would add three more goals in the second half to deliver the 12-1 final.
Rizzi and Jasik Dhillon led the Hornets' offensive attack with two shots each. Goalkeeper Dean Patterson collected 12 saves in the net on a busy night where Mohawk Valley registered more than 20 shots on goal.
The team returns to action at home on Saturday at 3:00 PM. The Hornets will challenge another nationally ranked opponent as the #10 Onondaga Lazers will pay a visit to Alumni Field.
