For the first time since December 5th the women's basketball team lost, falling to the NJCAA's #7th ranked Onondaga CC 82-61 in Syracuse on Tuesday evening. The last time Broome lost back in December was to Mohawk Valley in Utica, the Hawks are currently sitting in the 6th spot in the NJCAA's poll.  Costly turnovers and lapses in defense cut into any hopes of the Hornets staying with the Lazers.  Broome cut the lead to 9 several times in the second half but could not get any closer than that.

Vivian Ladd paced the visitors with 14 points, 6 assists, 3 blocks and a couple of steals.  Vanessa Groover came off the bench to score 10 points, Miya Ritchie added 9 points, and Calista Smith and Kori Thornton contributed 8 points apiece.  Daisy Allen pitched in with 6 rebounds and 4 points off the bench.  Thornton also dished out 4 assists in the contest.

Broome fell to 4-5 in Region III and 2-1 MSAC while Onondaga improved to 7-2 in Region III and 2-0 MSAC.  Up next is a road trip to Auburn for a 5:00 P.M. MSAC game against Cayuga CC on Thursday.
