Balanced Attack Leads To Women's Soccer Victory

The women's soccer team took the 4 hour trip to Sanborn, NY on Saturday and hit the field running defeating Niagara County CC 8-0 in a Region III matchup. The Hornets took a 3-0 lead into halftime and never looked back. Broome dominated from start to finish with eight players figuring into the scoring stats. Broome outshot Niagara 26-0 and had a 3-0 advantage on corner kicks. Jordan Loucks (Cooperstown, NY/Cherry Valley) led the balanced attack 2/2 followed by Renee Kashou (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) 2/0. Julia Dorber (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and Rosemary Zelenyak (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) 1/1 each while teammates Kacie Coffin (Newark Valley, NY/Newark Valley) and Marley Norton (Newark Valley, NY/Newark Valley) each had a goal 1/0. Kirsten Klein (Endwell, NY/Maine Endwell) got into the stats with an assist 0/1. Niagara's goalkeeper Rose Spira had 7 saves for the host team.

The Hornets are now 3-1 on the season and travel to Utica, NY this Wednesday for a 3:00 p.m. soccer match against the Hawks of Mohawk Valley CC, the #4 ranked team in the country.
