Women's Soccer Upends Nation's #2

The women's soccer team defeated Mohawk Valley CC, the #2 ranked team in the country, 3-1 in Utica on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing 1-0 to the Hawks (4-1-1) going into the half to the NJCAA's Division III second ranked team in the country, the Hornets responded with three unanswered goals in the second half for the win. Sophomore Kendra Zacharias (Vestal, NY/Vestal) led the surge with goals in the 63rd and 65th minute. Jordan Shepard-Loucks (Cooperstown, NY/Cherry Valley) added the insurance goal in the 78th minute. Erin Hamm (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) had 5 saves in net for Broome (4-1).

Up next is a home match this Saturday against North Country CC at 1:00 p.m.
