The women's soccer team defeated Jefferson CC 1-0 at Alumni Field this afternoon to advance in the Region III tournament. The final score of 1-0 was indicative of the hard fought game by both sides. The Hornets leading scorer Jordan Shepard-Loucks got her team best 18th goal of the season in the 40th minute off a perfectly placed corner kick by Renee Kashou.  Although the first half was mostly under the control of the Hornets, the second half was a battle from the beginning to the end with Jefferson applying pressure in a hunt for the equalizer. The Hornets were not to be denied garnering their 14th win of the season and their 10th shutout.  Erin Hamm made a fabulous save to start the second half keeping the game in hand.
