Women's Soccer Wins At Home In MSAC Soccer Match

The women's soccer team defeated Onondaga CC in a soccer match Wednesday afternoon at home. In the battle of the MSAC leaders, SUNY Broome got the better of Onondaga by the slim margin of 3-2.  After giving up a goal in the first 6 minutes of the game, the Hornets (9-2/4-1) steadied the ship and got the win by controlling the midfield along with stellar play by the defense.  Jordan Shepard-Loucks (Cooperstown, NY/Cherry Valley) started off the home team in the 33rd minute with a slick finish of a rebounded ball. Shelby Brassard (Spring Grove, PA/Home School) added the second goal in the beginning of the second half with a 30 yd shot that ripped the upper corner of the far post.  After giving up the tying goal in the 68th minute the Hornets again dominated the play and finally put the game winner home when Kendra Zacharias (Vestal, NY/Vestal) dropped a ball to Renee Kashou (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) for the game winner.

SUNY Broome will host Herkimer County CC, the #4 ranked team in the country, in a Region III soccer match this Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at Alumni Field.
