Men Rally For Road Win

Broome came from behind on Friday night to earn their first MSAC win by defeating Tompkins Cortland CC, 87-74.  The Hornets trailed the Panthers, 40-33, at the intermission but the visitors came out determined to take control in the second half.  A couple of runs by Broome turned a seven point first half deficit turn into a twenty point lead with three minutes left in the game.  The win, Broome's first since back on December 7th, improved their record to 6-16 overall; 1-6 MSAC while Tompkins Cortland fell to 4-14 overall; 1-8 MSAC.

The Hornets saw three players in double figures, including two turning in double-doubles.  Tron Smith led the way with 27 points and 11 rebounds, Quartus Steika posted 19 points and 11 boards and Christian Sage put up 20 points on the night.  Travis Kraack chipped in with 6 assists and 6 points.

Broome will host Onondaga CC this Wednesday at 8:00 P.M. in the Baldwin Gymnasium.  The Lazers are currently ranked 8th in the latest NJCAA Poll.
