
Men's Basketball Elevates Eric Edwards To Interim Head Coach
SUNY Broome Athletics has appointed Eric Edwards the Interim Head Coach of the men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season.
SUNY Broome Athletics has appointed Eric Edwards the Interim Head Coach of the men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season.
Edwards had been an Assistant on the SUNY Broome men's basketball staff for multiple seasons before being elevated into the Interim Head Coach position for the upcoming academic and athletic year.
Edwards is a Binghamton, NY native and a graduate of Binghamton High School, where he played basketball. Edwards continued his playing career at the collegiate level, attending New Mexico Military Institute, SUNY Broome, and SUNY Cortland and playing varsity basketball at each university.
He also played semi-professional basketball for two years with the Binghamton Bulldogs franchise in the American Basketball Association (ABA).
Edwards has experience training and developing the skills of basketball players since 2017, and began his official coaching career with City Rocks Binghamton AAU and the SUNY Broome men's basketball program in 2023.
As a former student-athlete at SUNY Broome, Edwards recognizes the importance of success on and off the court in the devlopment and growth of student-athletes. He possesses an associate's degree in Individual Studies and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Development.
Edwards is a father of three: Valerie, Avery, and Eyden.
SUNY Broome Athletics is excited to continue the elevation of the men's basketball program as Edwards steps into his new role.
