The women's basketball team won their MSAC opener 76-64 Thursday night in Canandagua against Finger Lakes CC. The Hornets led from the opening tip to the final buzzer in earning their fouth win in a row and improved to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. The Lakers fell to 4-10 overall and 1-1 in the MSAC. 

Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) filled up the stat line leading all scorers with 29 points, 13 boards, 6 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks. Chandler Prouty (Oneonta, NY/Milford) had a collegiate best 24 points, Lucille Dellos (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) added 14 points and 5 assists and Maddie Blackman (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) chipped in with 9 points and 13 rebounds. Alex Sheppard paced the Lakers with 26 points.

Up next is a trip to Dryden, NY this Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. MSAC tipoff against Tompkins Cortland CC.
