The women's basketball team defeated Corning CC 58-56 on Wednesday evening on a 3-point shot at the buzzer in Corning. Chandler Prouty (Oneonta, NY/Milford) netted 18 points on the night but none bigger than her last 3. Prouty connected on a three as time ran out to lift the Hornets over the Red Barons in the MSAC contest. Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) led all scorers with 24 points and 7 rebounds and Lucille Dellos (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) added 14 points and 4 assists. Brooke Gipe (Poland, NY/Poland) brought down 7 boards as SUNY Broome improved to 9-5 overall and 4-1 in conference.

The Hornets return to the road this weekend with a MSAC game against Jefferson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and a 12:00 p.m. Region III contest in Troy on Sunday against Hudson Valley CC.
