Balanced Effort Leads To Win

The women's basketball team defeated Schenectady County CC Friday night 72-61 in a Region III game played in the Baldwin Gym. The Hornets recieved contributions from all eight players including Monee Julien's (Bronx, NY/Gateway) first bucket of the season. Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) led SUNY Broome with 28 points and freshman forwards Chandler Prouty (Oneonta, NY/Milford) and Maddie Blackman (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) each posted a double-double. Prouty had 16 points and 10 rebounds while Blackman added 12 points and 14 boards. Lucille Dellos (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) chipped in with 6 points and 5 assists and Karisa Sheriff (Windsor, NY/Windsor) came off the bench to contribute 6 points, 6 boards and 3 assists.

SUNY Broome improved to 13-7 overall and travel to Auburn, NY for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff against MSAC opponent Cayuga CC on Saturday afternoon.
