Women Split Region III Road Games

The women's basketball team dropped their first game on Saturday to Jefferson CC 71-51 in Watertown and beat Hudson Valley CC on Sunday 82-73 in Troy.

On Saturday the Hornets fell victim to cold shooting and a stingy Canoneer defense hitting only 24% of their shots compared to 46% shooting by Jefferson. Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) was the only Broome player to reach double digits with 25 points while Jefferson had three players reach double figures led by Alyssa Crosby with 27 points.

Sunday was a different story for the Hornets in the victory over the Vikings. Lucille Dellos (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) led the way with a career best 27 points, Caity Kuhnen filled the stat line again with 25 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks and Chandler Prouty (Oneonta, NY/Milford) chipped in with 12 points and 7 boards. Brooke Gipe (Poland, NY/Poland) led the way on the boards with 9 caroms.

The Hornets return home on Wednesday night for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off against MSAC opponents Finger Lakes CC.
