Women's Soccer Opens Up With A Road Win

Freshman forward Danielle Tyrell led SUNY Broome with two goals in a 5-1 victory over Genesee CC on Saturday afternoon in Batavia, NY. Freshmen Katelyn Simpson, Shannon Gregory and Marisa Valdes each had a goal in the winning effort.

The Hornets (1-0-0)  went into halftime down 1-0 on a Cougar (0-1-1)  breakaway and came out in the second half to score five unanswered goals. Broome's defense was solid all game long allowing only two shots on goal and no corners. Goalkeeper Ariel Roys logged in ninety minutes with one save.

Up next for the Hornets is a 3:00 p.m. home contest against Finger Lakes CC on Tuesday, September 4th.
