The Hornets (4-3) were able to weather an early storm after two first half goals by the Pioneers (7-0) but were unable to find the net during the game.
 
Alfred State College opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a goal by Taylor Dezio, twenty minutes later Hannah Holmok found the back of the net again. Broome came close twice, hitting the crossbar and the side post each time. 
 
Broome's Ariel Roys stopped eight shots while Krista DeCarlo had four stops for Alfred.

The Hornets will travel to Troy, NY on Saturday for a doubleheader with the men's team against Hudson Valley CC starting at noon.
