SUNY Broome traveled to Utica this afternoon to take on Mohawk Valley CC in a meeting of Region III heavyweights and came out on top 3-2 in double-overtime. The game was back and forth all afternoon with the Hornets never relinquishing the lead. Kaelyn Michitti got Broome on the board first before Victoria Wyman found the back of the net for Mohawk to send the teams into the half tied at 1-1. Nicole Harmer's goal in the 58th minute put the Hornets ahead only to be tied again by Isabel Anjorin of the Hawks (2-2;1-2 MVC) at the end of regulation resulting in the two overtime periods. In the second overtime period, Broome (4-0;2-0 MSAC) emerged victorious on Michitti's second goal of the afternoon off an assist from Mikaela Mazerolle at the 101 minute mark. The Hornets outshot the Hawks 33-8 and edged out their opponent 4-3 on corner kicks. Jolene Krom earned her fourth save while stopping 3 shots.

Broome will travel this Saturday on their fourth consecutive road trip to Saranac Lake, NY to take on North Country CC at noon.
