Broome took on the NJCAA's #3 Genesee CC at Alumni Field on Saturday and fell to the Cougars 2-0 in the MSAC match. The Hornets displayed their determination from the opening whistle, putting the Cougars on the defensive. Despite their early dominance, Broome was unable to convert their chances to find the back of the net.

As the first half progressed, Genesee managed to break the deadlock with a well-executed header from a corner kick in the 34th minute.

The Cougars extended their advantage in the 67th minute when they capitalized on a penalty kick, sealing their second goal of the match. Despite matching their opponents' pressure, the Hornets couldn't find the breakthrough they needed.

Goalkeeper Crista Schanbacher's six saves helped keep Broome in contention. Although they didn't secure the win, the Hornets left the field with a great showing against a formidable opponent. Broome now stands at 0-2 on the season and Genesee stands at 1-0.

Next up, Broome travels to Sanborn to face Niagara County CC this Wednesday scheduled for a 5:00 P.M. start.
