The women's soccer team defeated North Country CC in Saranac Lake on Sunday afternoon by a score of 2-0. 

From the opening whistle, the Hornets dominated the match, controlling possession and making aggressive forward runs. However, the Saints showcased a formidable counter-attack, keeping the visitors on their toes throughout the game. The breakthrough for Broome came later in the first half when Haley Beckwith netted her first goal of the season in the 33rd minute. Courtney Seery's free kick from distance found the feet of Jessica Wells, who passed the ball to Beckwith. Beckwith slotted the ball into the back of the net, giving the Hornets a hard earned lead. Minutes later, Beckwith would strike again, this time capitalizing on a back pass from Leah Williams within the corner of the box. Beckwith's solid shot found its mark, doubling her tally in the 39th minute.

The match was a display of attacking prowess from both sides, with both teams relentlessly covering every inch of the playing field. Broome's dominance was evident as they outshot the Saints 19-4. North Country's goalkeeper, Samantha Hayes, showcased her skills with an impressive 12 saves to keep her team in contention. On the other side, Hornets' goalkeeper Crista Schanbacher made five crucial saves to maintain a clean sheet for her team. The Hornets improved their Region III record to 2-2 for the season and the Saints fall to 1-3.

Next up, Broome will host Onondaga CC this Wednesday, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 P.M. at Alumni Field.
