Volleyball Continues Winning Ways

Broome had an exciting win against Erie Community College this weekend in Buffalo, improving their overall record to 4-0. The Hornets worked hard to win the first set of the match 27-25 only to see the Kats take the second set by a score of 24-26. After losing their first set of the season, Broome rallied to take the last two sets 25-17 and 25-18.
 
Macey Gibson (Owego) led the team with 10 kills and Melissa Carden (Vestal) followed close behind with 9 kills. Carden and Sara Zepkowski (Owego) each contributed 4 blocks in the match, while Savannah Davis (Union-Endicott) put up 13 digs that contributed to the team's high of 60 total digs. Mackenzie Struble (Owego) had an excellent game totaling of 35 assists, 12 digs and 3 kills. 
 
Broome will host their next match in the West Gym next Saturday against Finger Lakes CC, scheduled for a 1:00 P.M. start.
