The Hornets fought hard against the #1 seed, Rock Valley, in the NJCAA Division III Volleyball semifinals on Friday evening, but unfortunately ended up with their first loss of the season. Broome ended up being swept by the Eagles with set scores of 15-25, 14-25, and 22-25. Although they lost the match, the Hornets played one of the best defensive games of the season against the tough offense of the Eagles.

Sara Zepkowski (Owego) and Macey Gibson (Owego) both led the Broome offense with 6 kills each. Zepkowski also put up 3 big blocks for the match. Mackenzie Struble (Owego) totaled 21 assists and 11 digs, while Savannah Davis (Union-Endicott) led the defense with 12 digs. Davis and Gibson each contributed 1 service ace to the match.
