The women's basketball team couldn't match up against the NJCAA's 5th ranked team, Onondaga CC, on the road and were defeated 100-55 Tuesday evening in Allyn Hall. The Hornets were able to hang with the Lazers in the first quarter keeping it within five points, down 22-17. The second quarter was a different story, Onondaga exploded with a 35-point quarter including 15 points from beyond the arc. The Lakers saw five players in double digits led by Morgan Deland with 16 points.
Broome had a balanced effort led, once again, by Jessica Shear (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) with 22 points. Maddie Blackman (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) added 14 points, 8 boards and 5 assists followed by Chandler Prouty with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The women will travel to Auburn this Thursday and look for their first MSAC win against Cayuga CC scheduled to tip at 5:30 p.m.
